Designing the organisation for a global brands business to match the owner’s and executive’s ambitions

An international consumer business

Context

Our client had ambitions for significant growth lead by global brands, marketing excellence and acquisition and/or international reach. This represented a shift from a background of trading and country sales, with a historical base in the UK and Europe.

Solution

We defined the capabilities of a global brand lead consumer firm and designed and agreed their future operating model. This meant installing new and enhanced capabilities such as consumer insights, NPD, expertise in new routes to market, digital and brand marketing, commercial finance alongside modern capabilities in ESG. 

We also evaluated their present culture and defined key shifts to drive growth and performance.  

As we moved beyond the ‘design’ phase, we provided support for the Managing Director individually and the new Executive team as a whole to perform through coaching and team development, and in working with the new Executive, we support the development of their 2030 Strategy.    

Outcome

The organisation has since successfully made two acquisitions, one in Asia and the other in Europe with global brands. The new Executive is now in place and is performing as a team, driving a shared 2030 strategy.
